The two Year-Long Programs explore the core practices of Contemplative Dance/Authentic Movement, with faculty guidance and a community of peers. Participants will enhance their own practice, learn ways of supporting others in theirs, and reflect on ways these processes might be useful in their work. The programs are based on movement practice closely examined and fully experienced over the course of the year. Participants will also explore a new theme each weekend as a way to view the process from different perspectives, and will develop a project to help integrate their discoveries into their work and lives.

The programs are designed to support the development of each person’s resources and ways of working, and to deepen their understanding of the multiple dimensions of the practice.

Those completing these programs may:

  • experience a deepened connection to their sources of creative, spiritual and psychological wisdom
  • find new approaches to their work based on this process
discover ways to integrate this practice and related creative processes into their professional work
  • feel ready to create and participate in a peer movement group
  • feel prepared to facilitate movement groups based on this approach to movement

Most weekends go from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, and include: guided movement meditations, movement sessions, creative forming, time in nature, practice and guidance in the witnessing relationship, discussion of the theme of the weekend, silence, and time for sharing and fun.

There are three ways to participate in these programs:

  • Participate in Year-Long Program I alone
  • Take Year-Long Program I followed some later year by Year-Long Program II
  • Enroll in Year-Long Program I and II as a two-year sequence
